I qualified as a Solicitor in 1988 and became the Head of Family Law at the North Kent firm of Marsons Solicitors in 1995. In 2001, with Georgina Earle-Hutton, I acquired the domestic practice of Marsons at Bexleyheath to create a new partnership (Landes Solicitors, subsequently rebranded as Landes Hutton LLP).
Throughout my career, I have specialised in all aspects of family and children law and have undertaken all issues (finances and children) family mediation since 1999. I am a long standing member of the Law Society’s specialist Children Law Panel (and formerly the Law Society Family Law Panel).
I was delighted to be recognised twice in 2016 for my contribution as a solicitor as the sole recipient of the Kent Law Society Outstanding Achievement Award 2016 . I was further shortlisted as Solicitor of the Year (Private Practice) at the prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards
I assist clients with their family disputes whether divorce, disputes in relations to children, cohabitation disputes or injunctive relief. I approach each case constructively and with sensitivity, always ensuring my clients receive the best possible, comprehensive and up to date advice and representation.
As a specialist in Children Law, I represent parents, grandparents, children and other family members in public law care cases and can provide specialist advice in relation to any public or private children dispute including care proceedings, Special Guardianship orders, child arrangement orders and adoption.
I have been a long time member of Resolution and act for clients in accordance with the terms of their Code of Practice.
I was a member of and subsequently Chair for many years of the Bexley Community Legal Service Partnership and formerly on the Bexley CAB management committee.
I am registered with the Family Mediation Council. As a trained and experienced family mediator, I offer practical help and assistance to separating couples whether the issues are financial and/or the children. I was previously a Consultant Mediator to the South East London Family Mediation Bureau in Bromley for many years.
Throughout my career, I have successfully combined my professional role with being a wife and mother. I sit on a Breast Cancer committee raising funds for The Haven Breast Cancer Support Centres; I am a trustee of Magpie Dance a registered charity for children and young people with learning disabilities. I am a keen amateur ceramicist and an avid book group member and love the theatre and good food (eating and cooking).
