To assist any more senior fee earner with the profitable management of their caseload while practicing the highest codes of professional conduct and customer service. To engage in other activities as directed by the Head of Department or Central Management.

Main Duties

  1. Carry out Client work as allocated by Members and other Fee Earners, under their supervision
  2. Ensure that all Client work is progressed expeditiously
  3. At all times to exercise high standards of Client care in a professional and pleasant manner
  4. Ensure the confidentiality and security of the Business, and Client, documentation and information
  5. Comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors
  6. Maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the Business
  7. Ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations
  8. To comply with the Business office Policies and procedures
  9. To assist from time to time with out of hours enquiries in accordance with the Business out of hours rota
  10. To attend on and to assist Counsel and Clients at Court and in conference when called upon to do so. To report to the Fee Earner with conduct of the matter promptly as to matters occurring at Court or Conference, and to take full and detailed notes of all significant matters
  11. To undertake prison visits if called upon to do so
  12. To visit Clients at their place of business or home if called upon to do so, with the permission of the Head of Department or a Partner
  13. To undertake legal research in areas of work undertaken by the Business, or as directed
  14. To attend all departmental meetings relating to the appropriate training seat(s) in which you are based.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Degree and LPC

Skills and Behaviours

  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Highly numerate;
  • Ability to work to deadlines;
  • Works well under pressure;
  • Need to be self motivated;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken;
  • Fully computer literate.
