I acted for a number of clients who were part of the largest group action brought before the English Courts. I successfully argued that two of my client's injuries did not fit the restrictive profile approved by the Court which had been devised by the lead solicitors for the assessment of damages. I eventually achieved a settlement twice what my clients would have otherwise have been entitled to.
I acted for a client who developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome following an accident at work. The claim was complicated because his employer alleged my client was no longer employed by him and his employment had transferred to another company. The claim eventually settled for £500,000 at mediation, net of contributory negligence.
I took over a claim from another firm of solicitors 8 weeks before trial. The claim was against a local nightclub and was vigorously defended. After investigating the claim, I obtained a statement from a key witness the former solicitors had overlooked. I made an application for permission to rely on his evidence out of time. The evidence was so crucial that the Defendant accepted that permission would be granted by the Court and promptly settled the claim.
