McMillan Williams interests me very much for two reasons. Firstly, its continuing growth implies that it possesses some very dedicated teams who can perform a wide range of work to the highest standard. The growth of the firm can also be attributed to the investment that McMillan Williams makes in its staff, particularly the paralegals and trainee solicitors in the firm.
Secondly, I am very impressed by the firm's emphasis on the provision of personal, quality service to clients, extending in range from personal injury and criminal defense to conveyancing and estate planning services. In my previous role which involved working mostly with clients at a vulnerable stage of their lives, I can attest to the importance of building and maintaining professional relationships but also remembering that you are dealing with people who are in need of reassurance and support so it’s very important to be tactful, try to put the clients at ease and help manage their expectations while aspiring to get them the best possible outcome.
At Mcmillan Williams, I work in the residential property department which is an area of law I had a keen interest in both during the LPC and at the law firm I was previously with. I enjoy undertaking this role and the opportunity to expand my knowledge in this area of law.
I am also keen to become part of a continually growing firm which offers a genuine opportunity for progression in my career, including the chance to gain a training contract.
Right from the beginning of my career with Mcmillan Williams, I have been made to feel very much at ease and know that there is a good support network.
I am very excited at taking part in the Advocacy competition. I think it is a fun and rewarding way to expand and improve the advocacy skills I gained during my LPC.
I have worked as a paralegal at a high street firm. I was involved in family and divorce law. I helped prepare for and attended several court cases and have gained great experience in how both the actual divorce process works in conjunction with child contact issues and financial relief. I have experience in Immigration and Asylum law which I gained during my time working for the senior partner of a London firm who is also a part-time immigration Judge.
