I was attracted to McMillan Williams because of its strong presence in my local area. McMillan Williams is well known for delivering high-quality legal services to their clients.
I was particularly interested in the areas in which the firm practices, and its' values and ethics. The firm offers in-depth training and ongoing support to their trainee solicitors and paralegals, which was a fundamental aspect in my decision to join a continually expanding firm.
Whilst studying for my LPC I became interested in the Clinical Negligence/Personal Injury elective. I was attracted to this area of law because of its complex yet interesting nature. More recently Clinical Negligence/ Personal Injury has received significant media coverage due to high profile cases and current reforms. I am excited to be a part of a developing and expanding area of law, and hope to become involved in litigious matters dealing with all aspects of Clinical Negligence/ Personal Injury. So far I have received a high level of support from the McMillan staff, and have been made to feel welcomed into the 'MW Family'. It is pleasing to know that everyone at McMillan Williams is approachable, and always willing to help.
Every year McMillan Williams host an annual advocacy competition for Trainees and Paralegals. This provides key learning and is a great opportunity to practice and develop vital skills needed in your career as a solicitor. In light of the changes within the legal profession, advocacy is an important skill that McMillan Williams are aware of, and we are fortunate to be given this opportunity. As I have recently joined the firm, I am looking forward to taking part in the competition later in the year.
As I start the next phase of my career with McMillan Williams I am excited with where this journey will take me, and am looking forward to building a successful working relationship with the firm and my colleagues.
