At McMillan Williams we strongly believe that it is our reponsibility to contribute to the welfare and happiness of others at the same time as achieving our corporate objectives.

We actively encourage and support our colleagues to become involved in fundraising activities individually, and also by make corporate donations to our 3 nominated causes, sponsoring employees fund raising activities.

Founded by musician and songwriter Sir Richard Stilgoe, Orpheus is an independant specialist college based in Surrey, which provides supported housing and a diverse curriculum of performing arts, independence and life skills to over 40 young disabled adults every year.

They have 27 tenants currently living in their supported housing at Orpheus in Surrey and 20 students accessing their learning programme on a full or part-time basis, with more sudents nationwide taking part in their short courses.

Porchlight are one of the foremost charities supporting vulnerable and homeless people in Kent.  They have supported accommodation services in Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Ramsgate, Sittingbourne and Tonbridge, a homelessness prevention service and a dedicated rough sleeper team.  They provide a range of services supporting people with complex needs, with specialist services for young people, ex-offenders and people with enduring mental health issues.  Their focus is on long-term solutions, breaking the cycle of homelessness and ensuring that people can live independently in the future.

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice

The Hospice does not charge for its services and only about one third of funding comes from the NHS, which means that they depend on the generosity of, mostly local, individuals, trusts, organisations and businesses to raise more than 4 million pounds annually in order to provide care to people when it matters most.

They have seen tremendous growth in Hospice services over the last 3 years, with provision of care and support now spanning across the whole patient journey.  These developments have all been in response to patient need.  The Hospice has moved from a service which focuses on care delivery in a building, to one which provides care in whatever setting it is required; this includes care in individual people's homes, care homes, hospital and at the Hospice in Abbey Wood.
