I chose McMillan Williams because I wanted to work in a firm that has a good working community and that allows for a high degree of client contact. I feel these points are particularly important to me as the best way not only to develop my legal skills but also to help the firm provide the best possible standard of service to its clients.

I became a Trainee Solicitor in September 2017 and work in the Residential Property department in Guildford, for Sarah Slade and Mike Brawley. Prior to commencing my training contract, I was a Paralegal in the team for just over 12 months.  The firm has always made me feel very welcome, allowing me to build a strong rapport with colleagues and clients, and to develop my skills further.

In addition, I have competed in the firm’s Advocacy Competition, a highly interesting event which allows paralegals and trainees to compete against each other in a courtroom scenario.

Work in the Community / Pro Bono Work

Before starting at MW, I was involved in pro bono work at a local sixth form college. I co-ran a mock trial for a group of students in order to introduce them to the court system.
