I chose McMillan Williams because it offers the accessibility and personal service of a local firm but the presence of a national one. I was attracted to MW because of its strong client focus when providing a diverse range of practical solutions to clients and their strong commitment to staff development.

The structured training provided at McMillan Williams demonstrates the clear focus it has towards the progression and professional development of their staff.  I hope to take advantage of the training MW offers in different practice areas, broadening my knowledge.

Prior to joining McMillan Williams, I gained experience in Family, Child Protection and Employment Law in both the UK and Australia.  More recently, I obtained Commercial Banking experience, having worked as a Business Specialist for a Global Bank.

Great emphasis is placed on the Advocacy Competition held every year by McMillan Williams, which gives both Paralegals and Trainee Solicitors an insight on how to conduct and present ourselves in a real courtroom scenario. The competition, unique to McMillan Williams, offers an excellent opportunity to put knowledge into practice and demonstrate advocacy skills.

I am currently working in MW’s Conveyancing department in the Hove office.  I am gaining valuable experience in all aspects of the Conveyancing process.  I have had the opportunity to run my own caseload under the close supervision and am enjoying the connections I am making with local businesses.

Career Achievements

In 2016 I competed in the MW Advocacy Competition for the first time and was fortunate enough to obtain an honorary mention for my efforts in the first round for outstanding advocacy.

Work in the Community / Pro Bono Work

I have previously undertaken pro bono work at the Brighton Leasehold Advice Clinic. In my spare time, I like to volunteer for local animal charities.

What My Clients Say About Me

"Thank you very much for all your help during the recent sale of my flat. I've been through the process before and was so impressed by how painless you made it seem this time around, and also how speedy.  Because of your attentiveness plus attention to detail, I would not hesitate to recommend you. I wish you the best of luck in your professional career. Thanks again" - L Burns
