Law, Class 1
University of Cambridge
University of Law
I applied to McMillan Williams Solicitors Ltd due to the excellent in-house training offered and its unique approach to training by taking on all trainees as paralegals first. The size of McMillan Williams appealed to me because it provides opportunities to progress and grow within an expanding firm, but also maintains a personal feel. The emphasis placed by McMillan Williams on prioritising relationships with clients is important to me. The opportunity to work as a Family Law Paralegal at the Brighton office was an ideal role for me as this has always been an area of the law which fascinated me during my studies and an area which I feel strongly about.
I hope to apply my legal knowledge gained from University in a practical way whilst being involved in a range of child law matters. I look forward to expanding my advocacy and public speaking abilities whilst taking part in the 2016 Advocacy Competition. In September, I plan to commence the Legal Practitioner Course part-time at the University of Law in London or Guildford whilst working as a paralegal. My long term goals are to qualify as a solicitor and work in Family Law, Criminal Law or Employment Law.
