I am Head of Mental Health and Dispute Resolution based at MW Bexleyheath. I deal extensively in all aspects of civil litigation and also have a wealth of experience in mental health law and regularly provides advice, assistance and representation to patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
I have a specialist interest in forensic patients particularly those detained at High Secure Units including Broadmoor and Rampton Hospital.
I also sit as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First Tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber.
I have also been appointed as an Independent Funding Adjudicator and Independent Costs Assessor to decide on appeals against refusals of funding and costs assessments made by the Legal Aid Agency . I also sit as a member of the Legal Aid Agency's Very High Costs Cases Panel and Special Controls Review Panel.
