Penningtons Manches LLP
I joined McMillan Williams in 2017 as a trust and probate specialist acting on a wide range of contentious estate, trust and inheritance matters.
I act for both Claimants and Defendants in claims brought under The Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. I also advise on challenges to wills on the grounds of testamentary capacity, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval and improper execution.
I am pragmatic in my approach, and always aspire to keep the aims of my clients as a strategic focus whilst also ensuring that the legal realities are made clear. In particular, I provide guidance to clients throughout the alternative dispute resolution process and keep them advised as to the legal and commercial aspects of settlement as applicable to their matter.

I successfully settled a professional negligence matter and obtained a financial sum for my client (claimant) after an initially low prospect of success.
I advised my client on the tax ramifications of a dispute with the executor during the administration of an estate.
I advised my beneficiary client as regards the duty on the executor to take action against a non-compliant tenant.
I am the chairman of trustees for the Footsteps Trust, which is an alternative education programme for students excluded from (or unsuited to) mainstream education. I have been actively involved with this charity, in one facet or another, for the past 7 years.
I volunteer my time as a youth worker at my local church.
I have in the past provided free advice at the Citizens Advice Bureau.
