I joined MW Solicitors in November 2017 as a Childcare and Family Solicitor, having trained with a London based firm.

I deal mainly with parents whose children are subject to care proceedings and matters have been taken to court by the Local Authority.

I pride myself on my client care and have been commended for going the extra mile with my clients who are going through an extremely emotional time.

I have great experience in the following areas of law:

  • Care Proceedings
  • Public Law Outline (PLO) / MBA meetings with Social Services
  • Residence / Contact disputes
  • Domestic Abuse

I undertake work in all areas of East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, including Eastbourne, Hastings and Brighton.

Recent Successes

  • I recently acted for a mother of 3 within care proceedings, who was at risk of having 2 of her children placed for adoption. Through months of hard work on both myself and my clients part, we are able to secure Supervision Orders in place of adoption. This was a fantastic result for all, and one of my proudest moments to date.

  • I acted for a mother of 4 children who was the victim of severe domestic abuse at the hands of her husband. The court was satisfied that it would cause the children great emotional harm, along with being at risk of extreme physical violence, should they be made to have contact with their father, and made no order for direct or indirect contact. This enabled the family to move on with their lives and was a brilliant result.  I was able to secure a court order for the removal of the child out of the Jurisdiction to Russia with his mother, following a lengthy battle with the father, who was a perpetrator of domestic abuse.

Work in the Community and Pro Bono Work

  • I currently work with a local Eastbourne Charity in setting up a pro bono advice clinic for young people aged 18-25 who have not necessarily have the best start in life. I am hoping to give something back to the community and put my legal knowledge to good use.
  • I provided pro bono family advice at a Citizens Advice Bureau at least twice per month between 2015-2017. This enabled me to assist people with their family legal issues, when they were not in a financial position to instruct a solicitor and were not necessarily entitled to legal aid.
