Profile

I am a Solicitor in the Family Law and Childcare Department based in our London Bridge Office. I am instructed in primarily Private Law Children proceedings and Public Law Care proceedings.

  • Private Law Children applications include submitting applications for Child Arrangement Orders (Contact and Residence), Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders.
  • Public Law Care proceedings involve court applications made by the local authority in respect of a child for an Interim Care or Supervision Order, Emergency Protection Order or Adoption and Placement Orders.

In addition I advise on Voluntary Care Agreements Under Section 20 of the Children Act 1989, Special Guardianship Orders and Parental Responsibility Orders.

I represent a variety of clients in these applications, including; parents, aunts & uncles, godparents and grandparents.

I advise client’s on complex matters working alongside the local authority and Children's Guardian to ensure the best possible outcome for all parties involved. The nature of these matters is often complicated and sensitive. Clients find me extremely approachable and understanding and I am known for my ability to achieve optimum results.

I have extensive experience in working with vulnerable clients and I am regularly instructed on matters involving:

  • Serious allegations of physical, verbal and child sexual abuse
  • Domestic violence
  • Drug and alcohol misuse
  • Forced marriage and FGM
  • Mental health conditions and personality disorders

In addition to Children matters I am an Accredited Family Solicitor under the Law Society’s Family Panel Accreditation Scheme and have extensive experience in representing clients in:

  • Domestic violence & occupation disputes
  • Divorce & Financial settlements
  • Cohabitation issues, Separation Agreements and Pre Nuptial Agreements

I am an experienced advocate and have advocated in courts throughout England including Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Guildford, Kent and all of Greater London. I prefer to conduct the majority of my own advocacy, including representing clients on Emergency–Ex parte applications, Direction Hearings, Review Hearings, First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments (FHDRA) and DRA Hearings.
