I am a Trainee Solicitor at McMillan Williams Solicitors.
I joined the firm in 2018 as a Paralegal in the Residential Conveyancing department and began my Training Contract in 2019. I hope to broaden my knowledge and gain valuable experience throughout my seat rotations in a variety of areas of law.
I have an interest in Property and I plan to assist with the Commercial Property and New Build departments to be able to develop my skills in the area.
My experience at McMillan Williams Solicitors includes dealing with routine sale and purchase transactions, lease extensions, re-mortgages and transfers of equity as well as managing a small caseload of various simple transactions under supervision, mainly dealing with sale and purchase of both freehold and leasehold properties. I have also briefly experienced dealing with elements of serving a s.42 Notice with the assistance of our Leasehold enfranchisement team.
The interpersonal skills which I have gained during the past year at the firm, such as the ability to communicate efficiently with agents, Management Companies and Landlords and other third parties has allowed me to proceed through various transaction with ease. In addition, I have also highly developed on my problem solving skills and building long lasting relationships with clients. I look forward to developing further skills that will enable me to provide a first-class service to clients and to qualify with the firm.
During my degree I was heavily involved with the CLOCK projects assisting litigants in person with a various issues and whilst completing my LPC I was highly involved in the Brighton Leasehold Advice Clinic which advised landlord and tenants on a variety of issues. The skills which I have gained from the above experience has enabled me to progress with my Training Contract.
