Mon 24 July 2023 Taylor Rose MW Raises Funds for Will Writing Charity

We are proud to announce the Taylor Rose MW Wills, Trusts & Probate department has raised £990 to support nine different charities. Our department has willingly offered their skills and knowledge to draft individuals' wills in return for contributions to charity.

A few of our legal professionals volunteered their time to participate in Will Aid, a yearly charity initiative that involves writing Wills. This campaign is crucial for raising funds and providing individuals with the peace of mind that comes with having a Will written by a professional. The donations received will support the charities in their impactful work, both domestically and internationally.

Amidst the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the contributions will aid the charities in maintaining their transformative efforts domestically and internationally. The contributions are directed towards nine of the most cherished charities in the UK:

·    ActionAid

·    Age UK

·    British Red Cross

·    Christian Aid

·    NSPCC

·    Save the Children

·    Sightsavers

·    SCIAF

·    Trocaire (N. Ireland)

Krystal Ramsammy, Solicitor in our Wills, Trusts & Probate department said: “We’re delighted to have taken part in Will Aid this year. Not only does it aid those without a Will, but it also backs nine inspiring charitable organisations.

Taylor Rose MW are proud to have helped contribute to such a great cause. Millions of individuals in the UK lack a Will, and Will Aid provides them the opportunity to engage a professional to create this crucial document.

Knowing the donations, we raise will help nine charities to continue their fundamental work is a great feeling and it’s rewarding for everyone involved to be able to make a difference.”

Writing a will is one of the most responsible and considerate actions you can take in planning for the future. It is a document that carries immense importance, ensuring that your wishes are respected, and your hard-earned assets are distributed accordingly to your desires. A will is important for many reasons including:

·      Distributing your assets according to your wishes.

·      Providing for your loved ones.

·      Avoiding Intestacy laws and lengthy legal proceedings.

·      Minimizing family disputes

·      Appointing Executors and Trustees

·      Accounting for Digital Assets

·      Expressing your funeral and burial wishes

Solicitors who take part in this program generously give their time and knowledge, and do not charge for creating a simple Will. Since its inception in 1988, this initiative has garnered over £24 million in donations and received numerous commitments for future legacies.

For a basic Will Aid will, the recommended voluntary donations is £100 for a single Will and £180 for a pair of mirror Wills.
