Profile

I have specialised in clinical negligence claims since I qualified in 1992 and continue to handle both moderate and complex / high-value claims. I am committed to achieving the best results for my clients and exceeding their expectations. Claimants often feel let down by the health profession and can be vulnerable as well as have ongoing health concerns. I never forget that as well as achieving the right result for them it is important to support them all the way and enable them as much as possible to focus on rebuilding their lives or moving on but ensure that they are confident that their case is in expert hands. I consider that it is important that as their lawyer I am approachable and ensure they fully understand at all times what stage the claim is at and that they are confident that I will pursue their case vigorously to the end.

My caseload consists of:GP claims

  • GP claims
  • Surgical errors
  • Misdiagnosis / Failure to diagnose
  • Negligent  A and E care
  • Fatal claims
  • Obstetrics / Gynaecology claims
  • Neonatal deaths
  • Stillbirth claims
  • Orthopaedic / Amputation cases
  • Brain injury
  • Neurological  injury

Recent Successes

  • Settled a case for £200,000 where a GP failed to refer patient with new onset chest pain to a hospital, he collapsed 20 mins later at home and died. Established that had an ambulance been called then the average response times would have meant he would have been in an ambulance when he collapsed and been saved.
  • Settled a case for £275,000 for a Claimant who negligently acquired a pressure sore on their heel.
  • Settled a case for £100,000 for a female Claimant whose breast cancer pathology results were mixed up leading to negligent double mastectomy.
  • Settled a case for £65,000 for Claimant ( who had had knee replacement surgery and other leg had a prosthesis) who suffered wrist injury when she was incorrectly risk assessed whilst an inpatient and fell sustaining the injury.
  • CICA case settled for £195,000. Claimant attacked and suffered a head injury and had ongoing but subtle memory/fatigue problems but had returned to work.
